It's Back to School Season 🚌

It's Back to School Season

This feels controversial, but I have always felt like the New Year starts after Labor Day. As kids, back to school was always the start of the year. And the year always ended in June.

I guess that made summer a land before time... πŸ¦–

As adults, many of us also spend decades working around a school calendar as parents. Even with our son in college, this was the first time in almost 20 years that we didn't have some back-to-school ramp-up in August. (Apartment life is much less exciting than dorm living!)

As I see school buses circling our neighborhood and kiddos with backpacks waiting for them, it truly feels like the start of a new year! 🚌

What Will You Do Differently This Year?

Fall is the perfect time to take stock in your business. Have you accomplished what you intended in 2024? Are there things that were backburned that really need to get done?

How is your marketing plan going?

The good news is, if you're feeling like you didn't accomplish what you hoped, or you didn't start those marketing initiatives as you planned, there is still time to make an impact in 2024.

Here are four things you can complete before (calendar) year-end:

  1. Complete a Marketing Assessment. Are you not sure where to start or what exactly needs to be changed? The best way to build a marketing plan is to start with the data. Paul and Danny Pickering from Max Dale's Steak & Chop House and Stanwood Grill started their marketing journey with a Marketing Assessment and were pleased with the results.

  2. Update Your Website SEO. SEO updates can take 4-6 months to see a meaningful impact. If you finish this before the holidays, you'll start 2025 off on the right foot.

  3. Start that Paid Ads Campaign. You've probably been wondering how to boost traffic to your website or increase sales. We can capture some Black Friday market share and add additional revenue to your books by year-end.

  4. Update Your Business Listing(s) Across the Internet. Did you know there are dozens of business listing platforms across the internet? If you're not actively maintaining them, I will bet you a coffee you have a lot of inaccurate (or missing) information about your business online. We have a tool that updates and optimizes your business on each platform. Dean Hayes at Bay Equity made some lovely comments about this service.

Cheers to the New Year!

I am midway through some "new year" assessments and planning to get the most out of the next four months before the close of my fiscal year.

If you're doing the same and need marketing support, reach out! If we start now, we have time to make a meaningful impact before the holiday slide begins!
